Director Steven Horn is also the creator of The Chef’s Kitchen. His career began in 1968 with the founding of Gerald Stevens, Inc. an agency that performs marketing and branding services for a wide-range of organizations, both locally and nationally.

The creation of The Chef’s Kitchen was a natural. Steven, known for his love of taking a concept from inception to reality, developed relationships with some of the top chefs as they worked opening their restaurants. Seeing the passion and creativity of the chefs with his own fondness of food and cooking, gave birth to this culinary favorite. “This is the only reality cooking show on television,” he’ll state. “No takes, no script, home economist nor stylist. Each chef gets 25 minutes—that’s it.”

He has earned numerous Emmy nominations for directing a wide breath of productions covering such topics as: the law, women’s issues, fashion, music, art and politics. For which his background as the publisher of Concert Magazine and art director for fashion spreads appearing in Vogue, Glamour and The New York Times served him well.

Based on his commitment to young people and quality education, he taught at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and served on the board of City Center Academy. This Philadelphia preparatory high school is committed to the development and education of inner-city teenagers.

Native Philadelphian and Temple University alumnus, he splits his time between Philadelphia and Kennebunkport where he resides with his wife, Nicole.
